The three cer\u00adti\u00adfi\u00adcates type AF, IF and B(U)F cover com\u00admercial grade and all repro\u00adcessed enriched Uranium pro\u00adducts in use or to be used in the next decades for the manu\u00adfac\u00adturing of nuclear fuel.<\/p>\n<p>The DN30 Pro\u00adtective Struc\u00adtural Pack\u00adaging (PSP), deve\u00adloped by Orano NCS GmbH located in Hanau, Germany, is a state-of-tech\u00adnique design to protect any standard 30B cylinder against all mecha\u00adnical and thermal impacts to be con\u00adsidered under normal and accident con\u00addi\u00adtions of transport as defined in the inter\u00adna\u00adtional regu\u00adla\u00adtions SSR-6. Fre\u00adquent refilling of heels cylinders without prior washing is allowed. <br>The type IF cer\u00adti\u00adficate covers con\u00adtents of repro\u00adcessed UF6 with a U-232 con\u00adcen\u00adtration of up to 60 ppb; the maximal U-235 enrichment is also 5 wt.%. <br>The type B(U)F cer\u00adti\u00adficate covers all con\u00adtents of the type IF cer\u00adti\u00adficate as well as heels of repro\u00adcessed UF6.<\/p>\n<p>Special care has been taken in the defi\u00adnition of the per\u00admis\u00adsible heels to allow transport after emp\u00adtying as soon as pos\u00adsible and to avoid (excessive) storage periods of the heels cylinders before transport. The special safety fea\u00adtures are e.g. a valve pro\u00adtecting device, a rotation pre\u00adventing device, a very robust closure system and a thermal pro\u00adtection system. The plug pro\u00adtecting device allows the use of 30B cylinders with any kind of plug design, either hex head plugs or socket head plugs. A sturdy sealing device faci\u00adli\u00adtates the use of high security seals<\/p>\n<p>Care has been taken to keep the interface between transport means such as flat-racks and the DN30 package iden\u00adtical to the interface of already existing PSP designs. Handling of the loaded and empty DN30 PSP is similar to existing designs. In the USA, a separate cer\u00adti\u00adficate of package approval has been applied for to allow US domestic trans\u00adpor\u00adtation. For import and export pur\u00adposes, the French type AF cer\u00adti\u00adficate will be vali\u00addated in the USA as&nbsp;well.<\/p>\n<p>Manu\u00adfac\u00adturing of the first series of DN30 PSPs has already started. First units will be deli\u00advered to the cus\u00adtomer in the 3. quarter 2019. It is expected to reach an output of approx. 100 units in 2019 and 200-250 units in 2020. Pro\u00adviding transport capacity for the short term needs of the Uranium industry.
